I have an intensive retail background and earned an Associates Degree in Retail Marketing from WCTC.
In 2005, I received my Bachelor of Arts from Mount Mary College in Interior Design. The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (formerly FIDER) accredits Mount Mary’s interior design program. In my senior year I was fortunate to intern at Lise Lawson Interiors and Betty Johnson Interiors, which allowed me the opportunity to use my design knowledge in running a design business, meeting with business contacts, and visiting clients at their homes.
While pursuing my degree I worked in the design library where I learned about innovative design trends and how to include these trends with Green Design. In relationship to Green Design, recently I attended various green conferences and seminars throughout the country such as, West Coast Green in San Francisco, Coverings and Neo Con in Chicago and the Las Vegas World Market.
After graduation, I worked at Kohl’s corporation as a contract worker in their design and space planning division. I did extensive CAD (Computer assisted design) design work while at Kohl’s. In addition, I completed additional courses in CAD at Master Graphics.
Interior designing is an ever-changing profession so to stay attuned in the market place, I attend various seminars relating to design through out the year.
